With the temperatures dropping and the holiday season fast-approaching, New Yorkers and visitors take time out of their fast-paced, busy schedules to see a few iconic attractions. From shopping to sight-seeing, there are events for all to enjoy, making New York City our favorite place to be this time of year. Here are a few of our favorite spots-
Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
As they celebrate their 85th anniversary on Thanksgiving morning, arrive early to claim your spot to see Broadway performers, dancers, and of course, the infamous giant balloon characters. Be sure to check out their intricate holiday window displays as well, and bring your camera!
Ice Skating
Bundle up tight for this outside activity! There are various places to ice skate in the city this season, but a few of our favorites are The Rink at Rockefeller Center, Trump Wollman Park, Bank of America’s Winter Village at Bryant Park, and Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers. These locations range in price, and some are even free!
The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall
Also celebrating their 85th anniversary, this classic show is going tech-savvy to adhere to the growing technological interests of society.
Holiday Markets
Get your holiday shop on at various shops throughout the city, including Bryant Park’s Holiday market, Chelsea Market , the Grand Central Holiday gift fair, and more.
The Tree at Rockefeller Plaza
If you’re around on December 4, stop by to watch the famous lighting of the 80-foot tree, complete with 45,000 LED lights. This bright sight may be viewed until January 7th, 2014.
Times Square Ball Drop
What better way to ring in the new year than in the greatest city in the world?
All of these events are great things to see in New York during the holiday season, and of course, it is important to get a clear vision of each. Lucky for you, Stahl Eyecare Experts is here to help you see things more clearly.
