After getting to know Dr. Marc Werner, Dr. Hufnagel, and Dr. Chang, we thought you might want to meet Sonia Rodriguez, one of the first faces you’ll see when you walk into Stahl. If you still have questions for Sonia, (or any of the doctors), let us know in the comments below.
Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in New York City.
What made you interested in ophthalmology?
My sister had Lasik surgery in New Jersey and was so happy with the outcome.
What brought you to Stahl?
I searched ophthalmology and Stahl was one of the practices hiring and here I am. I get excited to see patients that are very nervous when they are scheduling their surgery and come in for their first post-operative visit and see how excited they are that they actually can see without contact lenses or glasses.
Do you have a favorite patient memory?
One of my favorite patient memories is a patient that had cataract surgery and was very nervous and anxious. After the surgery she was so happy she felt young again with her new vision. It changed her life in the most positive way.
What does a day at the office look like for you?
I work at the Manhattan office where I handle the phone volume, check out patients with collecting co pays, and schedule appointments for follow ups and surgeries. I do a lot of multi-tasking.
What is your favorite thing about New York?
My favorite thing about New York City is the diversity.
