The Raindrop Inlay Procedure
Once you are cleared as a candidate for the surgery, you may schedule your surgery date! The surgery itself will take around 10 minutes to complete. You will remain completely awake during the surgery, and you may choose to take a mild oral sedative to relax. Your eye will be numbed using local anesthetic eye drops, and your eyelid will be gently propped open using a lid speculum.
To start the procedure, your surgeon will use a laser to create a hinged flap in the corneal tissue of your non-dominant eye. The Raindrop inlay will then be placed onto the cornea and centered over your pupil. Your surgeon will then smooth the conreal flap back into place.That’s it! Your cornea is self-healing and will not require stitches.
You will not be able to drive directly after your procedure, so be sure to arrange a ride home. Many people see an instant improvement in their near vision after surgery.
