At Stahl Eyecare Experts, our purpose is to give you perfect vision so you can go out and enjoy the world. Whether it’s with LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, or contact lenses, we’ll make sure that you walk out seeing as well as possible.
We’re also local to New York and Long Island, so we have a special connection to this area and all the wonderful sights there are to see. Perfect vision goes a long way in experiencing it to its fullest. How can you fully soak it up if you can’t see 20/20 from the Top of the Rock? Or your contacts fall out as the subway passes? Or your vision’s blurry while you’re in the Hamptons with your grandkids?
So in order to fulfill our mission of not just giving you flawless eyesight, but giving you the ability to more fully experience the wonders of New York and Long Island, we’ll post our favorite places to see and when.
Labor Day is coming up. So we’re kicking this off with recommendations on our favorite end-of-summer spots.
For Manhattanites: New York Skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge
You haven’t truly experienced New York until you’ve seen it from the Brooklyn Bridge. For an extra treat, go at night to see the lights. It never ceases to amaze. Start with a stroll through Brooklyn Bridge Park and then enter the promenade and walk towards Manhattan.
For our Garden Cityers: The Long Beach Boardwalk
Only a 30 min drive from Garden City, you’ll find the Long Beach Boardwalk, a lovely strip that runs east west along the south shore and gives excellent views. The first ½ mile section just re-opened in July after the damage done by Hurricane Sandy almost a year ago. The new reconstruction is beautiful. Add the beach at sunset and it’s a picture-perfect moment.
For our Hauppaugers: Sunken Meadow State Park
Do the beach one better by visiting a state park. They have everything. Biking. Canoeing, Playgrounds. Nature Trails. Golfing. They also have a boardwalk and beach. You could easily spend the whole day there with the family and never run out of things to see.
