Following up his recent appearance on Fox News, Dr. Werner returned with his expertise on May 16th to discuss Hillary Clinton’s special prescription glasses.
In late 2012, Hillary Clinton was suffering from a stomach virus when she fell in her home, hitting her head. She was hospitalized, but her medical records have been kept under wraps.
Dr. Werner revealed that the glasses Clinton wore were Fresnel prism glasses, which are prescribed when a patient has experienced head trauma, along with a number of other causes. The prism is attached to the front of the glasses to prevent double vision. Dr. Werner stressed that Fresnel prisms are a short-term solution only prescribed when a doctor expects a patient to make a full recovery.
When asked what he would like to see in her medical records to better understand the need for the glasses, Dr. Werner said, “I would like to know what the results of any imaging studies were and the cause of why someone needed Fresnel. There are lots of different causes, anything from Myasthenia to Multiple Sclerosis to maybe a blood clot, these are all possible causes, but all we know is that she was using a Fresnel prism and therefore had double vision.”
